Organized by the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI), an organization dedicated to promoting the love for purebred dogs, the event drew thousands of participants and spectators, solidifying the Philippines’ status as a premier destination for world-class canine competitions.
The new year is off to an exciting start as the World Slasher Cup–often regarded as the Olympics of Cockfighting–is set to return to the Smart Araneta Coliseum this January 20 to 26.
Now in its 62nd year, this highly anticipated event continues to draw the finest breeders and cockfighting enthusiasts from across the globe, promising another thrilling week of non-stop action and exhilaration.
This year’s event brings the debut of the first-ever National Grooming Team Competition, a groundbreaking addition elevating the Philippines’ status in the global grooming arena. Alongside this competition, 17 world-class judges will oversee the All-Breed Championship Dog Shows, featuring 96 breeds and 7,560 entries across 12 shows.
The event boasts impressive numbers, with daily entries reaching 1,890 and top breeds like the French Bulldog, Golden Retriever, and Pomeranian among the highlights.
